Featured engagement

Independent design audit, de-risked delivery

A representative look at how our assurance work protects a project.

Commercial · Design Audit

Commercial complex, Madhya Pradesh

A developer engaged us to independently audit the structural and safety design of a multi-storey commercial building before construction. Our review examined the design against the National Building Code and relevant structural standards.

We identified several detailing and load-path issues and documented them in a prioritised report, allowing the design team to resolve them before work began — avoiding expensive on-site rework and programme delays.

How we deliver

The discipline behind every project we touch

Our portfolio spans residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and advisory work, but what matters more than any single project is the consistency of the approach behind all of them. Whether we are auditing a design for a client on the other side of the country or managing a build a few kilometres from our office, we apply the same method and hold the work to the same standard. The examples on this page are representative of the kind of work we do and the value it creates.

Residential developments

Homes and apartment blocks are where small design decisions have the biggest cumulative effect on the people who live with them for decades. On residential projects we focus on structural soundness, code compliance and the quality of detailing that determines whether a building ages gracefully or develops problems. From independent design reviews of multi-storey residential blocks to the structural design and site supervision of individual villas, we make sure that what gets built is safe, durable and genuinely fit to live in.

Commercial and institutional buildings

Commercial and institutional projects bring higher occupancy, stricter life-safety requirements and greater scrutiny from authorities and investors. Our work on these projects — such as independent safety reviews and code-compliance audits of commercial complexes, and design audits of public-use institutional buildings — concentrates on the things that matter most at scale: structural stability, fire and life safety, means of escape, and conformance with the National Building Code and relevant standards. The goal is always the same: a building that performs safely for everyone who uses it and stands up to the scrutiny it will inevitably receive.

Industrial and warehouse facilities

Industrial and logistics buildings have to cope with heavy loads, long spans and demanding operational requirements. Our work on warehouse and logistics facilities covers end-to-end construction and development management as well as the structural design that makes large, efficient spaces possible. We design for the realities of how these buildings are actually used, not just for how they look on a drawing.

Advisory and due-diligence engagements

Not every engagement ends in a building. A significant part of our work is purely advisory: independent design audits and peer reviews for clients who have their own design teams, and technical due-diligence and feasibility studies that help investors and developers make sound decisions before they commit. Much of this work is delivered remotely for clients well beyond Madhya Pradesh, which is why we describe our assurance services as global even though our construction work is regional.

A consistent, standards-based process

Behind every one of these project types is the same four-stage process. We begin by understanding the brief, the drawings and the site in detail. We then review and audit the design against the codes and standards that apply. We report our findings clearly and in order of priority, so you know exactly what to address first. And where we are involved in delivery, we support the project through construction, inspection and sign-off to a safe, well-documented handover. This consistency is deliberate: it is what allows a client to trust that a small residential review and a large commercial audit will both be done properly.

The value independent assurance creates

The projects we are proudest of are often the ones where nothing went wrong — because the problems that would have caused trouble were found and fixed before they ever reached the site. An independent review that catches a structural issue, a compliance gap or a fire-safety shortfall during design can save a project from costly rework, programme delays and reputational damage, and can prevent the kind of failure that puts people at risk. That is the real return on assurance, and it is the reason our clients come back. If you have a project in mind — a new build, a design review or a safety audit — start a conversation with us and we will tell you honestly how we can help.

What a typical engagement looks like

Clients often ask what it is actually like to work with us on a project, so it helps to walk through a typical engagement from start to finish. It begins with a conversation: you tell us about your project — its type, location, scale and stage — and share whatever information you have, from a simple brief to a full set of drawings. We study what you have given us, identify what is missing, and come back to you with a clear proposal that sets out exactly what we will do, what you will receive, how long it will take and what it will cost.

Once you accept the proposal and the engagement is confirmed, we get to work. For a design review or audit, that means systematically examining the architecture, structure and services against the applicable codes, checking the critical calculations, and testing the design for buildability and coordination. For a construction or development project, it means mobilising the right team and managing the programme, cost and quality from groundwork through to completion. Throughout, we keep you informed and flag anything that needs your decision.

At the end, you receive our deliverables: for an assurance engagement, a clear and prioritised findings report with practical recommendations and, where relevant, a non-conformity register and a stakeholder-ready summary; for a delivery project, a safe, well-documented, completed building. We remain available afterwards to help you act on our findings or to answer questions as your project moves forward.

Why independent assurance pays for itself

It is natural to wonder whether an independent review is worth the cost. In our experience, it almost always is — and the reason is simple arithmetic. A design error caught on paper might cost a few hours of an engineer's time to correct. The same error discovered after the structure is built can cost many times the fee of the review to put right, not counting the delay to the programme, the disruption to the client, and the reputational damage if the problem becomes public. And some errors — a compromised load path, an inadequate means of escape, a fire-safety shortfall — carry a cost that cannot be measured in money at all. Independent assurance is, at its heart, a way of buying down risk cheaply before it becomes expensive and dangerous.

Frequently asked questions about our projects

Can you share references from past projects? The examples on this page are representative of our capabilities. For a specific engagement, we are happy to discuss relevant experience directly with you, within the bounds of our clients' confidentiality.

Do you take on projects outside Madhya Pradesh? Our construction work is focused in Madhya Pradesh, but our design reviews, safety reviews and audits are delivered to clients across India and internationally.

Can you join a project that has already started? Yes. We can carry out a design audit or safety review at any stage, including during construction, and advise on remedial action where needed.

How do we get a project started? Contact us with a short description of your project and we will recommend the right approach and provide a clear proposal.

Working alongside your design team

When we are engaged to review or audit a design, we see ourselves as a partner to your design team, not an adversary. Our aim is never to criticise for its own sake, but to make the final design as strong as it can be. Good architects and engineers welcome a second, independent opinion, because they know that no one — however experienced — catches every issue on their own. We present our findings professionally and constructively, we explain the reasoning behind each one, and we are always available to discuss them with your team so that they can be resolved quickly and well. The result is a better building and a design team whose work has been strengthened rather than second-guessed.

Our standards, your assurance

Every project we touch is measured against recognised benchmarks — the National Building Code of India, the relevant Indian Standard structural codes, applicable local by-laws, and established fire and life-safety requirements — and, where a project has international dimensions, the relevant international codes as well. This is what allows us to give you assurance that means something: not a vague statement that a design "looks fine", but a documented confirmation that it has been tested against the standards that actually govern it. For owners, investors, lenders and regulators, that documented assurance is often the difference between a project that moves forward with confidence and one that stalls under doubt.

Start your project with confidence

Whatever stage your project is at — an idea on paper, a design awaiting approval, or a build already underway — the right expert input at the right moment protects your investment and the people who will use the building. We would be glad to understand what you are planning and to recommend, honestly, how we can help. Get in touch to start your project with the confidence that comes from independent, experienced assurance.
